Personal Statement

My name is Tyler Leach and I have a immense passion for the game of golf. My favorite thing about golf is how challenging it is and I feel that as I continue to work on my game I will develop into a strong player.

I began playing golf at the age of 2 and began competing competitively when I was 8.  My collegiate goals are to earn a golf scholarship and play for a coach and a program that will help me develop as a person, a student, and a player.  Another one of my goals is to play golf at the professional level. I understand that in order to achieve these goals I will need to rely on my excellent work ethic.  The strongest parts of my game are my putting, course management, accuracy, and mental toughness. I spend time working on all aspects of my game, but focus particularly on my short game, wedges, and driving accuracy.

I played basketball my freshman year and I am involved in my church's youth group and National Honor Society. I maintain a GPA above 3.7 and academics are always my first priority. I am also very coachable and easy to get along with. I know that I will be beneficial to any team I play for because of my positive attitude, strong work ethic, and I tend to lead by example.  Golf is my passion and I guarantee I will outwork anyone to help make the team the best it can be.
