Todd Kapostasy was born in Ohio on July 7, 1948. In 2002, he graduated from Perry High School and then joined Brown University, where he majored in political science and history.
However, after his graduation, he became a director and a sports producer for both ESPN and Fox.
According to his bio, some of his work includes Rodman: For Better or Worse, Gifts of My Kin, and The Pine Tar Incident.
Kapostasy actually met Lipinski when she presented him with an award at the Sports Emmys.
In 1998, the world got to know about her when Tara Lipinski won a women’s figure skating gold medal at the Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan.
She was only fifteen years old at that time when she became the youngest athlete to win Olympic gold in her sport.
Tara Lipinski was also the first woman to complete a triple loop-triple loop combination, which was her signature jump.
She retired from skating in 2022 and now working as a commentator for NBC.
When did Kapostasy and Lipinski get married?
Kapostasy and Lipinski tied the knot on June 24, 2017, at Middleton Place in Charleston, South Carolina.
Lipinski wore a Reem Acra gown, which was designed by Laura Basic, and featured a 20-foot train.
Fellow ice skating Olympian and broadcasting partner Johnny Weir was part of the bridal party and gave a toast to the couple at the reception.
The day after her marriage, Lipinski posted on Instagram and gushed about being married.
She and her husband spent their honeymoon in the Maldives following their wedding.
Lipinski said Kapostasy ‘gets emotional’ rewatching her skate for gold
Before the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics kicked off, Lipinski was a guest on Access Daily and spoke to hosts Kit Hoover and Mario Lopes regarding the docu-series “Meddling,” which she co-produced with her husband.
The show covers the Olympic skating scandal that happened in 2002 when Canadian figure skating pair David Pelletier and Jamie Sale lost the gold to Russian pair Elena Berezhnaya and Anton Sikharulidze.
Tara Lipinski also revealed that she still skates today.
She said, “I do it enough to keep up. I’m definitely not on the ice every day … [but] I don’t usually go longer than a month or two to make sure that I still got it.”
It is also revealed that Tara Lipinski’s husband got emotional after rewatching her performance for the gold at the 1998 Winter Games, and that gave her chills. She added, “I’m lucky to have him.”
