William Charlie (W.C.) Hill also affectionately called “Goat” was born August 25, 1951, in Southampton County, Virginia. He was the third child and only son to the late Charlie Hill and Maude Hill Hawkins. He departed this life at the age of 71 on Thursday, October 13, 2022.

William matriculated through the Norfolk Public Schools system and graduated from Maury High School in 1970. W.C. was employed in his first job at the former Golden Triangle Hotel in Downtown Norfolk for 20 plus years and ultimately retired from that same hotel which was later renamed Holiday Inn Hotel. WC also worked at McDonald’s at Military Circle for a number of years.

Left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Sylvia Hill of Norfolk, and Joan Hill Adkins of Portsmouth. There are several nieces Zina Pruitt, who was the primary administrator over his affairs, Antoinette Hamlin of Chesapeake, Dr. Ursula Hill of Portsmouth, and Janice L. Harper of Fredericksburg, and one nephew, Claude “Stanley” Hamlin (Charlene) of Norfolk, Virginia along with a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and other loving family members and friends.

W.C. was humorous and was always in good spirits. He was well-known for making jokes and having a hearty laugh.
