Personal Statement
My name is William Kuebler, I am a left handed pitcher and first baseman. I am very coachable, a hard worker, and will always give my best effort whether it's on the field, in the weight room, on the track, in the classroom, and in everything I do. Since beginning baseball at 7 years old, as a military child, I have played on several teams in different places. I was able to experience Cooperstown with my Tampa select team in June 2017. It was a great experience and provided me with many learning opportunities. Playing prior to high school, I realized that baseball not only made me a better player, but also a better person, and has taught me valuable life lessons. This awareness increased even more once I started playing at the high school level. The coaches at my high school really believe in turning us into better men.
I have had consistent success in the classroom and am a hard working good student. I take all Pre-AP or AP classes with the exceptions of athletic periods and electives and have a 4.95 weighted GPA. I also got accepted into the National Honor Society chapter at my school, and was accepted into PALs (Peer Assistance Leadership). I am never afraid to ask questions, and feel it is beneficial if I don't know or understand something, so I can learn and grow. This translates to the baseball field where I can continue to improve my skills.
I try to be nice to everyone. I feel everyone deserves a chance, and sometimes a second chance. I am a good teammate and a team player, thinking about what is best for the team, not just myself. I always try to do my part, go above and beyond, as well as encourage my teammates to do the same. I hold myself accountable, and try to set a good example being a leader, for example hitting the weight room after school.
Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement.
