Leo Bonatini will join Mexican side Atletico San Luis on a two-and-a-half-year deal after his departure from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Bonatini, 28, left Wolves on Thursday by mutual consent after four years at the club, making his move to the Mexican side a free transfer.

The forward played a pivotal role for Wolves during their promotion-winning 2017-18 season, where he scored 12 goals in 47 appearances under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Bonatini also made seven appearances for Wolves in the Premier League, notably assisting Adama Traore in the club’s 1-0 win against West Ham.

Since then, however, he has found it difficult to find a place in the first team. Instead, he has had four separate loan spells, namely at Nottingham Forest, Guimaraes and Grasshoppers.

Wolves return to action on December 20 when they face Gillingham in the EFL Cup before facing Everton on Boxing Day.
