Personal Statement
I have been playing lacrosse since I was 7 years old and fell in love with the sport once I put a stick in my hand. Ever since then I have been training my whole life to be the best athlete I can be on the field. I know that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life because my hard work would pay off and I could head to the next level with my lacrosse abilities.
I have excellent stick skills using both hands and have quick feet which allow me to play great defense too if I get stuck on the other side of the field. I am a team leader and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates and making everyone else around me better. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players and one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find because playing at a high-level school will make me work to be better.
I always put school before anything else, and in the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA, which also allows me to be high in my class. I also volunteer at local youth camps and am currently a member of our class council and key club which helps homeless people find shelter. I like to help the less fortunate and give out happiness because I feel complete once everyone around me is feeling better.
My freshman year and freshman summer I lacked confidence, and I would never dodge or try to make something happen for my team. But over the summer and over my sophomore year, I watched YouTube, talked to experienced players and coaches, and raised my IQ for the game. Now I take chances and saw a difference in my ability on the field, which now I believe I can play at a high-level college.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom where my future will be and in lacrosse where I can be part of a team and something big. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model for all my peers and make my parents and everyone who has pushed me this far proud.
